Join the TEACH Team: Program Manager

To Educate All Children seeks an achievement-oriented and equity-minded Program Manager to provide direct support to partnership campuses and teachers, help set and achieve an ambitious vision for impact and provide key curriculum support as TEACH revamps their programmatic work. Working closely with the Director of Program and Executive Director, this Program Manager will manage a cohort of schools and classrooms, supporting teachers to implement the TEACH program.

TEACH is a non-profit community impact organization currently operating in Houston and Aldine Independent School District schools located in predominantly low-income neighborhoods. TEACH focuses on empowering educators by helping them build safe and calm classrooms through intensive training and coaching on classroom management skills, with a focus on areas such as de-escalation, conflict resolution, building students’ self-image, and nonverbal communication. Who We Are Looking For:

We are seeking an instructional leader who is a strategic thinker, a strong implementer and an excellent developer of people. This Program Manager should be passionate about leading from an equity lens and providing hands-on support to teachers and school leaders, including but not limited to providing in-classroom coaching, attending campus PLCs, partnering with campus administrators and becoming a part of the campus community. In addition to 1:1 in the moment coaching and feedback, Program Managers are also designers and facilitators of adult learning, for small and large groups of educators along the experience spectrum.

Candidates should be excited to identify, build and deepen relationships and pursue creative solutions, while executing the TEACH program with fidelity. They should be excellent self managers, able to thrive in independent work situations where they are contributing to an overall goal and strategy, but day to day work is self-driven and responsive to their individual cohorts.

In summary, the ideal candidate is excited to spend their days in classrooms and on campuses, participating in decision-making meetings, analyzing data, developing close relationships, and creating action-oriented coaching plans. A care for people, students and partners is evident in all they do.

Key Responsibilities:
Partnership Development & Partnership Management

•  Build and maintain transformational relationships at your partner campuses, with teachers, staff, students and leaders, grounded in shared commitment to students
• Plan for and spend the majority of time engaging in in-person, on-campus coaching conversations and professional development execution. Program Managers should anticipate spending 75% of their time in-person, with educators and students. (See below for a schedule break down)
• While virtual engagement (via video conference or phone) might be necessary from time to time, the Program Manager position requires a commitment to frequent in-person engagement with stakeholders. In-person, on-campus work is fundamental to meeting outcomes for the programmatic team.
• Establish yourself as a consistent, positive presence at campuses through observations, in the moment coaching, debriefs, professional development and other meetings
• Lead teachers and classrooms to rigorous outcomes, including building the skill and capacity of partner teachers
• Take steps to ensure alignment with campus and district priorities
• Engage in reflective cycles to analyze measures of impact, including tracking, analyzing and sharing qualitative and quantitative data
• Make decisions, recommendations and coaching plans based on robust data collection and analysis
• Share data with the broader program team to highlight successes, raise trouble areas and collaboratively problem solve
• Design and facilitate adult learning for partner schools, including small and large group sessions
• Use qualitative and quantitative data (from observations, coaching conversations, campus strategic plans, etc.) to design objective-driven, program-aligned professional development
• Build and maintain positive relationships with other key stakeholders to represent TEACH externally

Organizational Health & Strategic Direction

• Support and execute on the vision and direction for TEACH’s Program team, in alignment with the organizational vision and strategic priorities
• Work collaboratively with the TEACH team of Program Managers, especially the Director of Program and other Program Managers, to ensure progress to goal measures are met
• Maintain excellent internal systems to ensure all work is designed, documented and standardized whenever possible to accurately track evidence and impact
• Engage in robust, data-driven reflection cycles and planning processes to ensure organizational alignment and assess progress to goal on an ongoing basis
• Support ongoing fundraising efforts and development priorities; for example: participating in creation of materials, submission of classroom data, attendance at events

Who You Are & What You’ll Do:
You have…

• Previous classroom teaching experience (required); previous instructional coaching experience (preferred)
• Bachelor’s degree required
• 4+ years of relevant experience, school or network-based experience preferred
• Stellar record of results setting and achieving robust instructional priorities, as evidenced by state and school-wide student assessment measures
• Excellent relationship building skills
• Ability to work non-traditional hours, including evenings and weekends
